The Road to Dedication

Towards the end of this summer, I hit a HUGE boredom block when it came to my workouts.  Sure, I went to the gym everyday, did any occasional yoga class, but I was so sick of my routine!  That’s why I promised myself that when I got back to school I would buy a yoga/pilates pass and start going to classes.

I’ve always dabbled in yoga here and there, but I’ve never quite had the time or money to fully dedicate myself to the practice. I knew I always felt calm and relaxed after, and vowed to do it more, but you know how things are….life gets in the way! Upon returning to school, by paying for the pass, I knew it would make me go.

In the past 2 weeks, I’ve been going to a yoga class at least 3 times a week.  Yes, making the time for this with a busy school schedule is hard, but the results are worth it.  I immediately feel less stressed, even if I have two tests the next day.  My  mind is calm, relaxed, and I don’t have a million thoughts running through my head.  I’m not going to deny that I want to nap immediately after, but give it some time and I find myself quickly awaken with more energy.

Yes, I’m still a beginner, but I know that yoga will be something I continue to do throughout my life because of all of the amazing benefits.  It’s easy to do at home too!  If I ever don’t feel like paying $15 for a drop in or $115 for 10 classes, there are so many yoga videos online and yoga tutorials on Pinterest!  Give them a try!

Namaste,

A
