Four Skincare Products to Add to Your Daily Routine

The older I get, the more important my skin becomes. Sunscreen, moisturizer, serums, masks, and more have become an essential part of my skincare routine. I try to focus on buying mostly natural products—organic when I can—since what you put on your skin is absorbed right into your bloodstream. Below are four products that I’ve been loving lately.

1. Curie Deodorant

Because I have a family history of breast cancer, I’ve always been weary about using antiperspirants because of their suspected connection to breast cancer. In general, I don’t believe antiperspirants are healthy because they block your sweat glands—your body is meant to sweat!

Instead of antiperspirants I use either men’s deodorant or a natural deodorant. Finding a good natural deodorant can be difficult—a lot of them aren’t effective and wear off in a few hours. Curie is one of the better ones on the market. It has a White Tea scent that smells delicious and is made with ingredients like coconut oil and cocoa seed butter. There’s also a version for sensitive skin.

2. Origins Plantscription Anti-aging Power Serum

Origins products are my absolute favorite, but this one takes the cake. This serum is light and non-greasy and works well under moisturizers or make up. While I don’t have many wrinkles, I’ve noticed that it does a good job of preventing more from forming and firms up my skin. I use this serum in the morning and my other vitamin C serum (below) at night.

This is probably the most expensive product I own, but it’s definitely worth the investment. Origins has sales often, especially online, so there’s a good chance you can purchase it at a lower price.

3. Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum

I’m usually skeptical when it comes to products promising a brighter, glowing face. This serum, however, truly does what it promises.  I put it on before bed and I wake up and my face looks brighter and feels softer.

I use this serum every other night before bed, which is what the directions recommend. On the nights I don’t use it I use moisturizer instead.

4. Thayers Witch Hazel

Witch Hazel is a favorite product of mine because it’s great to freshen your face with mid-day. Thayers Witch Hazel is organic and not distilled, meaning it maintains all the beneficial, natural tannins. Thayers is also more gentle than other witch hazels and doesn’t dry your face out.

My favorite product is the cucumber face mist because it smells amazing, but the towelettes are nice to have as a travel option or for after the gym. Plus, Thayers Witch Hazel is now sold at Target, making it easy to grab on your next grocery run!
